A serious read for any Border War Veteran, Paratrooper or anybody with a military interest. The book is illustrated and graphically designed to include previously unseen and unpublished clandestine photographs and official classified documents which reinforce and support the narrative.
For those of you who were ‘there’ or have had any military experience the book will provide you with a nostalgic glimpse of what happened to myself and my Parabats in the War at the End of the Earth.
Starting with basic training at 1 Special Service Battalion (1 SSB) and 1 Parachute Battalion, the narrative moves to Ondangwa, Owamboland and the Triangle of Death. Then onwards with 2 and 3 Parachute Battalions to our experiences at the controversial ‘Battle of Cassinga’.
Thereafter life with 44 Parachute Brigade and finally to the end of my volunteer military service in the SANDF Reserve Force.
