8009 : South African Paratrooper Nutria Brown jump smock (Slangvel)

1988 – 1993

South African Paratrooper Nutria Brown parachute jump smock, size Large, made by Specifico Bophuthatswana in 1991, introduced in 1988, 120cm (47 inches) around chest under the arms, 67cm (26 ½ inches) sleeves, from shoulder to cuff, and 77 (30 inches) back, from under the collar to the bottom, all press studs working, zipper working, about a 2cm x 3cm tear on the left sleeve at about elbow height – see photos, otherwise very good condition.  Worn by 1 Parachute Battalion, 44 Parachute Brigade, Reconnaissance Commandos and 7 Medical Battalion.  Similar to the Soldier 2000 camo smock in the photo, photo not included, just for reference purposes (Slangvel, 1 Para Bn, 44 Para Bde, 7 Med, Recces)
