1559 : BSAP Sub-Inspector rank badge, Silver

1972 – 1978

Rhodesian British South Africa Police Sub-Inspector rank badge, Silver. This was the most senior rank to which an African policeman could aspire prior to in the BSAP prior to 1978 and there were very few of them. Generally they were Members-in-Charge of Township police stations. After 1978 when all police ranks became open to African policemen all the Sub-Inspector were promoted to Section Officers.
