32 Battalion beret badge, lugs cut off, original issue. A note to collectors, there was never a brass 32 Bn beret badge or collar badges made or worn at any stage, all were chromed. Be aware of the sellers on internet auctions selling the brass badges as “Rare 1st issue”, these, and most of the chromed ones being sold are newly made fakes. The brass badges in Colin Owen’s book, The Military Badges and Insignia of Southern Africa, came out the factory incomplete, had not been chromed yet, and were incorrectly identified as 1st issue.  (Buffalo Battalion started by Jan Breytenbach)
